(by Rhoda Wilson | The Exposé) – An op-ed published by Newsweek has been widely shared among the freedom movement that some may welcome as a breakthrough in the false official covid narrative. It’s the confessions of a Texas medical student titled: “It’s time for the scientific community to admit we were wrong about Covid and it cost us lives.” But can we simply take it at face value or is there something more? As it becomes apparent that the covid narrative is being toppled, could Newsweek’s commentary be a limited encounter?
On Monday, Newsweek published an article by an American medical student who confessed: “we the scientific community were wrong.”
As a medical student and researcher, I strongly supported the efforts of public health authorities when it came to covid-19. He believed that the authorities responded to the greatest public health crisis of our lifetimes with compassion, diligence and scientific expertise. I was with them when they asked for lockdowns, vaccines and reinforcements.
I was wrong. We the scientific community were wrong. And it cost lives.
Now I can see that the scientific community, from the CDC to the WHO to the FDA and their proxies, repeatedly exaggerated the evidence and misled the public about their own views and policies, including natural immunity versus artificial, school closings and disease transmission, aerosol spread, mask mandates, and vaccine efficacy and safety, especially among young people. These were all scientific errors at the time, not in retrospect. Amazingly, some of these obfuscations continue to this day.
But perhaps more important than any individual mistake was how flawed the overall approach of the scientific community was, and continues to be. It was flawed in a way that undermined its effectiveness and led to thousands, if not millions, of preventable deaths.

The article seems to say what many of us who have pushed back the anti-covid response against science, censorship and psychological narrative construction in recent years have been saying. Everything sounds good. But there is a big mistake towards the end:
… we have witnessed a massive and continued loss of life in the United States due to mistrust of vaccines and the healthcare system; a massive concentration of wealth by already wealthy elites; an increase in suicides and gun violence, especially among the poor; nearly double the rate of depression and anxiety disorders, especially among young people; a catastrophic loss of educational attainment among already disadvantaged children; and among the most vulnerable, a massive loss of trust in health care, science, scientific authorities and political leaders in general.
