Perhaps for the first time in our modern history, non-Western countries now have an alternative to the United Nations when seeking relief from the military actions and relentless bombing by the United States and countries enriched by it with weapons of mass destruction acquired in black market of the Pentagon’s unfathomable $6 trillion black hole budget there is no accounting.
This alternative to the primarily Western-funded United Nations is the BRICS. BRICS currently includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, but in January Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates will join.
A new report just published by Bloomberg claims that the BRICS are already larger than the G7 countries made up of the US, Canada, UK, France, Italy, Germany and Japan.

According to a report, the group’s share of global GDP in PPP terms is set to more than double that of the G7 by 2040.
The rapid rise of the BRICS is transforming the global economy, with the group’s share of world GDP in terms of purchasing power parity (PPP) set to rise well beyond that of the Group of Seven (G7), the major advanced economies , according to Bloomberg. week
BRICS currently includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, but in January Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates will join.
The G7 club of industrialized and developed countries consists of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany and Japan.
The report indicated that the enlarged BRICS is already larger than the G7. In 2022, the bloc accounted for 36% of the world economy, compared to 30% of the advanced economy group. (Full article.)
Iran, perhaps disillusioned by alleged US promises to release billions of dollars in funding to prevent them from escalating the war in Gaza, has just called for an emergency virtual summit with the BRICS nations on the situation in Gaza which will be held tomorrow Tuesday. November 21, with reports that both Russian President Putin and China’s Xi will attend.
South Africa to host virtual BRICS meeting on Gaza as proposed by Iran’s president
At the proposal of Iran’s President Ebrahim Raeisi, leaders of the BRICS group of emerging economies will hold an emergency virtual meeting to discuss Israel’s ongoing attack on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
“The leaders of the BRICS countries – Brazil, Russia, India and China – will meet [under the South African presidency] for an emergency virtual meeting, inviting the leaders of the [new] BRICS countries: Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates,” the South African president’s office said in a statement on Monday.
He added that South African President Cyril Ramaphosa is scheduled to deliver opening remarks at the extraordinary BRICS meeting on Tuesday.
He noted that the six member states and guests will make separate statements on the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza as the Israeli regime continues its relentless attacks on the besieged Strip.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will attend the meeting and the participants are expected to issue a joint statement. (Source.)
Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend and participate in the meeting.
Putin to attend BRICS emergency summit – Kremlin
The meeting will be devoted to the ongoing escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Moscow has said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin will join an emergency video conference with other BRICS leaders on Tuesday to discuss the ongoing escalation between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas, the Kremlin said in a statement on Monday. The presidential administration did not provide further details about the upcoming event. (Source.)
Meanwhile, top diplomats from five Arab countries have just arrived in Beijing today to discuss the Gaza situation, and Chinese President Xi is also expected to attend the emergency BRICS meeting tomorrow.
Gaza and the BRICS: Arab leaders’ visit to China is just the beginning
Frustrated by the United States’ unwavering support for Israel’s war in Gaza, Arab governments have been looking at other options to help establish a ceasefire before it’s too late. First stop: Beijing. Moscow’s role may be darker, but no less essential, in building a global coalition that contradicts the West’s position.
The choice of Beijing as the first stop on a tour of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council shows China’s growing role in the Middle East amid global energy competition. It also shows regional frustration over the West’s justification of Israel’s attacks on Palestinians as “self-defense,” according to Asharq, a United Arab Emirates-based news outlet.
The delegation included foreign ministers from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Indonesia, the Palestinian Authority and the president of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The meeting was chaired by Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, who called for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian aid and relief to Gaza, according to the ministry of Saudi Foreign Affairs.
Instead of more futile talks with Israel and the US about the war, the Arab delegation is now focusing its efforts on other sources of geopolitical power. Indeed, Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected to attend the extraordinary virtual BRICS summit on the Palestinian-Israeli issue and make public statements in Beijing on Tuesday, according to Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying.
The sources also say Arab foreign ministers could move to Moscow’s side to continue efforts to leave the West risking further isolation in its approach to the Middle East. (Full article.)
