The Yellow Card biobank is a collaboration between the MHRA and Genomics England. Its goal is to improve understanding of how a patient’s genetic makeup can increase their risk of harm from side effects. They are collecting your data, but they are not presenting the methods that will be used to correlate the side effects of drugs with people’s genetic makeup.
Another trip to fantasy land!
Nor is it at all clear how they will use – or misuse – the genetic data. Will it be used to prevent treatment based on certain genotypes or genetic conditions? Will genetic data be sold to private individuals without consent?
None of these and more critical questions are being addressed.

Hedley Rees, based in the United Kingdom. Mr. Rees has been providing consulting in the development, manufacture and distribution of drugs that fully comply with the GMP requirements of 21 CFR Title 21 since 2005 through his company, PharmaFlow. Prior to this, he spent 16 years in senior positions in Big Pharma (Bayer) and ten years in biotechnology (British Biotech, Vernalis and OSI Pharmaceuticals (now Astellas). Mr. Rees also authored Supply Chain Management in the Drug Industry: Delivering Patient Value for Pharmaceuticals and Biologics for Wiley, NJ in 2011. His expertise is in the area of anything to do with manufacturing through all three phases of trials clinical (and pre-clinical if necessary) and continued distribution of the commercial supply.Failure, he has a duty to bring this to the attention of regulators, as has been happening with the frozen vials of COVID shots that were only sent halfway through .
